Location, Location, Location

They say that location is the big thing in the real estate biz. It is also a very important consideration in the empire building gig. A very rough sketch of the Lugdunum map would look like this:

Farm Island has enough arable land to support up to 9 farms. In a northern climate, each farm can feed up to 160 people. That means that Farm Island can support 1000 - 1200. We'll shoot for that.

Middle Island has rocky areas that can be used as iron mines or marble quarries. There are also sites for clay pits and some nice, flat spaces for workshops. This will be our industrial export area.

There is a large flat space on the western side of the Native Country than can support 2-3 thousand folks. We'll try for 2,000. The eastern side also has some good ground that can hold at least 1,000.

Finally, we have more farmland than we need so we are going to use some of it for housing. So we have all told:

If everything works out we will end up with about 5400 people which provides a little fudge factor.

Now we'll figure out exactly where these plots are going to go.
