
General
Believe it or not, Lugdunum has some advantages:
- First of all, the city is a cash cow. You can
export weapons, and later marble, and pottery. These are all big ticket
items,
and money should be no problem.
- Secondly, there is plenty of farmland. The upper
farming plateau has enough room for all the farms you need plus space
to
house at least 1,000 people.
This example took me 18 game years to complete. I was slow because:
- I am slow.
- I consider the game lost and will restart if one
of the following occurs:
- I go broke - no loans from Caesar.
- I cannot win unless I give Caesar a gift.
- I must give money to city.
With one glaring exception, (The pacification of the natives) I do not use
shortcuts or cheats. (so far!)
I find that the process of building a city usually consists of four separate
phases:
Planning
Building the Base
Expanding the City
Endgame
